Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals
Baptism is a commitment to love God and following the teachings of Christ. As an adult you make these promises for yourself - this maybe something you have been exploring thorough attending church or engaging with the teachings in the bible. Parents and Godparents make these promise on behalf of an infant, committing to teaching them about Jesus as they grow.
Baptisms usually take place on the first Sunday of the month in our all Age Service.
If you’d like to find out more about getting baptised, or would like your infant to be baptised or dedicated, get in touch with us by coming along to one of our services and our team can help you take the next steps.
We are delighted that you are thinking about having your wedding at Sawley Parish Church.
Please get in touch with us by sending an email, telephoning us or you can pop along to a service to have a chat with one of the team.
For more information about getting married in a Church of England church, visit Yourchurchwedding where you can find out all the legal details and information about a church wedding.
Funerals are arranged through a funeral director. To have a funeral at our church just tell the funeral director and they will liaise with us.
Our ministers and lay readers can also lead your service at the crematorium, again just let the funeral director know and they will speak with us.
Once the arrangements have been made by the funeral director we will contact you to plan the service with you. We will also offer support for you and your family and please email or use the form below if you would like us to be in touch in the days immediately following the death of a loved one.
Please let us know if your enquiry is about a baptism, wedding or funeral visit..
